Year 7 Immunisations

Knox City Council will be providing the second round of Year 7 school immunisations at Knox Civic Centre, 511 Burwood Highway, Wantirna South. This is to ensure we can manage this essential health service in a safe manner for all staff, students and families. People are allowed to travel to receive immunisations in current restrictions.

 

Please make an appointment for “School Imm Yr 7 + 10” for your child through Council’s website https://www.knox.vic.gov.au/immunisations. The session date should  be Thursday 23rd September, or a later date. 

 

If you are unable to attend a Knox Council immunisation session, please take your Year 7 child to a GP or other service provider.

 

NOTE: 

  1. There should be a minimum one week gap between school vaccines and any Covid-19 vaccines.
  2. There should be a minimum six month gap between 1st dose of HPV and 2nd dose of HPV vaccine.
  3. If your child has missed out on the first round of school immunisations, you can still book into these appointment to start their Year 7 school vaccinations now.

Year 10 Immunisations

If your child has missed out on their Year 10 vaccine (Meningococcal ACWY) earlier in the year, and would like to be vaccinated this year, Knox City Council Immunisation team is offering school immunisations at Knox Civic Centre, 511 Burwood Highway, Wantirna South.  

 

Please make an appointment for “School Imm Yr 7 + 10” for your child through Council’s website https://www.knox.vic.gov.au/immunisations. School session dates are available in September and November.

Student Absences - during remote learning

If your child is absent or late due to illness or for any other reason, parents/guardians are able to choose one of the following options to inform the school:

  • Mark the absence on Compass
  • Send an email to the school:- fairhills.hs@education.vic.gov.au
  • Call 9758 5022 to leave a message on the absence hotline.  This is operational 24hrs a day, 7 days a week for your convenience.

Please be aware that during lockdowns, students will only be marked present if they log into Webex sessions on time, use their first name and last name and turn on the camera when instructed. If your child feels they have been incorrectly marked absent, please ask them to email their teacher. 

Masks

When we return to onsite learning, please ensure all students 12 years and over (unless there is a medical exemption) comply with the mask law. https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/face-masks

  • The school has a limited supply of masks that can be handed out to students.
  • Can we ask that students pack an emergency mask in case their mask breaks during the day.
  • The General Office will keep a list of students who require a mask.

The on-site Uniform Shop  is currently closed due to lockdown.
