Boarding

Mrs Hannah Whittemore, Head of Girls Boarding

Another fortnight has passed with the boarding community thriving both remotely and at Wolaroi. Our boarders have been kept busy with their studies, particularly our Year 12’s who are at the end of their HSC Trials, and need to be commended on their resilience, determination and positive attitude. The Year 12s at Wolaroi, like their peers at home, have all sat their exams remotely which has had been not only a success but a reflection of their hard work, competence and flexibility. The Year 11s are working diligently with their upcoming exam period, and they should be congratulated on how they have thrived in an ever changing environment. For them, Term 3 brings School and Boarding leadership interviews, announcements and of course this brings hope, excitement, disappointment and relief. I was so proud of the impressive group of young leaders that put their names forward for leadership positions from the boarding community and know that regardless of role or title, next year promises to be one of possibility.

The Heads of House have kept their remote boarding community engaged as well as entertained with the many baking, dance and photo competitions, trivia nights and bingo nights. I have to give a special mention to the parents who have danced their way on to our boarding Teams pages- thank you for your continued support in remaining connected with us. At School, there have been fiercely contested badminton competitions in the gym, wheelbarrow races and yoga on the oval.

We are all very much looking forward to the day where we welcome back all of our boarders, it’s certainly not the same without them, but until then we will leave you with some photos from home and Wolaroi, reminding us that we are a strong community regardless of where were are in the world.
