Free First Aid Training for Students

Each year Australian Red Cross celebrates World First Aid Day to promote the importance of learning first aid skills.

This year, the theme for World First Aid Day is First Aid in Schools and Red Cross is hosting a live FREE virtual first aid training session for students, their families and any interested members of the community on Saturday, 11 September 2021 at 11am EST.

We invite you to share this information with your school communities.

Why young people should learn first aid

An emergency could happen in the school yard, sports field, or out with friends. Young people are often the first responders in emergencies and knowing essential first aid skills could save the life of a friend, teammate or loved one.

We encourage students, their parents and carers to register for the free first aid training session.

What the FREE training session will cover

On Saturday 11th September at 11am (NSW, VIC, QLD, TAS), 10.30am (SA, NT), 9am (WA) our qualified Red Cross first aid trainers will teach essential first aid skills that could potentially save a life.

The session will run for an hour and cover CPR, what to do if a friend is unconscious, how to treat burns, asthma attacks, broken bones, head injuries and other emergencies.

Students also have the opportunity to ask first aid questions.
