Third place in our inter-school Chess Tournament

Congratulations to our fabulous chess players who competed in the CV Zonal Inter-school Chess Tournament on Tuesday, August 31. 

Our school came third overall. What a great result for our competitors: Gavi (Yr 9), Enzo (Yr 7), Agatha (Yr 7), Arjun (Yr 9), Jennifer (Yr 7), Jennifer (Yr 8), Nathan (Yr 9) and Adam (Yr 8). 

This is only our second inter-school chess tournament as a chess club, which makes the achievement even more impressive. I was told that the competition was very stiff, with a number of previous chess champions competing.

A special shout out to Jennifer Morrison, who ranked 2nd on the leader board. What an impressive achievement. Thank you to everyone who participated, and we are hoping that soon we’ll have an opportunity to play face-to-face with players from other schools. Sincerely, Ms. Boyd.
