Ski Camp

Ski Camp 2-:

Wednesday August 29th- Friday August 31st.

The intermediate – advanced ski camp was everything that you could possibly want in a school camp, from great food to great times. Leaving early on a Wednesday morning there was a buzz of anticipation and excitement. After the 4 hour bus trip we got into our ski clothes, hired our gear and hit the slopes. The first day was mainly just a lesson instructed by the Mt Buller expert instructors with a little bit of free time afterwards. We then went back to the lodge where we had pizza and chips for dinner and relaxed and got prepared for the big day ahead of us.

Everyone was up early on the second morning at 7:00am for a 7:30am breakfast and an 8:30 lesson start. The lesson went for about 2 hours, leaving a bit of free time before lunch. Lunch was pre-made for all of us and it was great! After lunch we were able to get into groups and have 4 hours of free time to ski on the slopes with all their friends under the supervision of our wonderful Beaumaris SC staff. That night we all went back at 4:15pm to get ready for the early dinner and 6:15pm Lion King start that was screened in the Mt Buller cinema.

On the last day we were up bright and early to pack up all our stuff and move it into another room. We jumped into our gear and had a lesson at 8:30. After the lesson we had lunch again and then had some more free time until we had to return our gear and head back in the bus. Everyone was very sad that we had to leave but excited to see their families again. We are all already so excited for next year.

It is fair to say that there was a huge improvement in both ability and confidence for all students who attended the camp. We had a ball skiing with not only other students but also the teachers.
