Specialisms Update

All Year 8 students should now have received their Specialisms confirmation via their GOAL Mentor during Parent/ Student/ Teacher Learning Conferences or during GOAL session today. Can we please ask that these are signed and returned to GOAL Mentors by the end of this week. The array of Specialisms on offer has certainly generated a lot of excitement amongst our families and teachers.

It there are any additional queries, parents can book an appointment with Peter Bartlett or Deb Kirk by calling Reception ph. 85699200.

PARENT STUDENT/ TEACHER Learning Conferences

Our Parent/ Student/ Teacher Learning Conferences ran very smoothly on Friday with most teachers having fully populated appointment schedules. If you were unable to access a time-slot, please contact the relevant teacher via the COMPASS Portal for an update on your child's progress. It is our intention to undertake an evaluation of the conferences so parents will have the opportunity to feedback in the coming weeks.

Alpine School

You will see in this newsletter an opportunity for 5 of our 2020 Year 9 students to attend the Alpine School during Term Two next year. This is a wonderful opportunity and I would like to thank Simone Schultz for submitting our successful application. Please refer to the relevant page of this newsletter for expression of interest details.

World Teachers Day

World Teachers by crept by us during the holiday break and as Australia's Teacher Day (also in October) approaches I wanted to take this opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding work of our Teachers at Beaumaris Secondary College who work tirelessly to continue to provide the best opportunities to the young people who walk through our doors each day; doors that have only been open for learning for a mere 7 Terms! The significant demands in education are often understood or underestimated at best. It is a profession that increasingly relies on the goodwill of its people and this is something that our teachers have in spades at Beaumaris SC.

WOMENS BIG BASH 20/20

Beaumaris SC was very fortunate to host a number of practice games for the upcoming Women's Cricket Big Bash last week. Students were treated to some exemplary cricket skills during their break time. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to host these games...a wonderful opportunity resulting from our relationship with the MCC.
