Communities of Practice

ISQua's Communities of Practice

ISQua's commitment to supporting specific activities to strengthen engagement with professionals in low and middle-income counties has led to the development of our regional Communities of Practice.

To date we have two active communities, the African Community of Practice and the Latin American Community of Practice.

A third community, the Person-Centred Care Community of Practice, grew out of ISQua's Advisory Forum and Advisory Committee on Partnerships with Patients.

This  Community brings together patient representatives, advocates and practitioners with an interest in person-centred care, to discuss issues affecting care and quality of service. As with ISQua's other Communities of Practice, the group meets online every 6 weeks. A second function of the group is to advise the ISQua Board on relevant matters from the patient's perspective.

ISQua has placed the patient's voice at the centre of its strategy for the coming years and is committed to the development of patient led research and publications.

ISQua's African Community of Practice

Set up in 2016, ISQua’s African Community of Practice includes quality improvement specialists working in health and social care settings across Africa.

With regular online meetings, members can exchange quality improvement strategies in health care, discuss their successes and challenges and learn how best practices can be applied to their context.

This group is open to anyone interested in furthering QI work and initiatives in Africa.

The Latin American Community of Practice is run in association with el Consorcio Latinoamericano de Calidad y Seguridad en Salud (CLICSS) / Latin American Consortium for Health Quality and Safety.

With regular online meetings, members can exchange quality improvement strategies, discuss their successes and challenges, and learn how best practices can be applied to their own organisations.

This group is open to anyone interested in furthering QI work and initiatives in Latin America.
