2020 School Fees

School fees have been invoiced to families and they are available to view in the Compass Parent Portal.  We anticipate that school fee statements will be issued by email within the next 10 days.  We apologise for the delay in distribution of statements, which was unanticipated and due to system issues.  For your information payment requirements are as follows:

  • For families who pay annually, payment in full is due on 28 February 2020.
  • For families that have submitted a Request to Pay by Instalment or who previously had a School Fee Agreement in place, a schedule of the required payments and the due date will be issued with school fee statements.  The first instalment payment will be due on 28 February 2020.  Parents may commence payments earlier if they wish, however, it is important that any existing regular payment is equal to the instalment amount provided on the schedule and that payment is made on or before the due dates on the schedule.  Reference should be made to the Request to Pay by Instalments on the school’s website for conditions relating to payment in this manner.
  • For families who have a Fee Concession in place, you will be contacted prior to your review date to complete annual documentation and arrange an interview with the Principal.  If you have a current payment plan in place, and you are unable to increase your payments to meet your 2020 school fees, you may continue to make these payments until your next review date.
  • Parents should be aware that our new accounting system will send automatic reminders for overdue payments.

All student activity levies include all costs except the Swimming Carnival and  Gala Days.  These items will be billed separately through EVENTS on the COMPASS Parent Portal.

Kindergarten and School Assembly

Kindergarten students will attend their first school assembly in Week 5.  Assembly is held in the school hall and parents are always very welcome to attend. Parent entry is via the Park Road door of the hall.

Important Notice Regarding Allergies and Anaphylaxis

The safety of all students whilst at school is critical and we do what we can to prevent any incident that causes harm to any student. Many of you will know someone who is affected by anaphylaxis, a life-threatening allergic reaction.

There are many students across the school with severe allergies to either peanuts, eggs, or seafood and fish. These food items have the potential to put these students at risk. The school asks for your support in helping to make school safe for these children.

St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School asks that food containing nuts or eggs not be sent to school with your child. This includes Nutella type products. Please consider these children when packing crunch and sip, recess and lunch each day for your child.

In addition, Year 1 parents are requested not to send seafood or fish products to school including canned fish such as tuna.

To further reduce the risk for these children, products containing nuts are not sold in the school canteen. Also, fish products will not be available to Year 1 students to order for lunch, either online or over the counter purchase.

You can also assist by clearly labeling your child’s food containers and drink bottle with their name.

At St Joseph’s we have a ‘No sharing of food’ policy and we ask that you reinforce this with your child.

If you have any queries or concerns about the management of those at risk of anaphylaxis, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Thank you for assisting us in caring for students at risk of anaphylaxis.

Meet and Greet Your Child's Teacher

The purpose of a Meet and Greet between a teacher and parents/ carers, is to start to build that important home and school relationship.  It is a time for parents to assist the teacher to know and support your child for their learning.  Teachers will not report on your child's progress at these meetings.

Meet and Greet sessions commenced on Monday and will be held for the remainder of Weeks 2, 3 and 4 with teachers and parents for students in Years 1 to 6.  Kindergarten Meet and Greets will be held in Weeks 5 and 6.

This time with your child’s teacher is an opportunity for you to discuss your child’s areas of strength and any needs your child may have.

How do I book a meeting/s?

The online booking system for parents of students in Year 1 to 6 has closed. Should you still require an appointment time please contact the school office.

NOTE:  Bookings for Kindergarten will open on Friday 21 February at 5pm.  You can access this from the COMPASS Parent Portal.
