From the Principal

Dear Families,

In a very special  way we remember the students who this Pentecost weekend will make their First Eucharist within our Parish.  It is no doubt a  a wonderfully exciting time for these children and their families.  May these children be regularly nourished by the Eucharist and  together with support of their families and all within the Parish be guided by the Holy Spirit to continue to grow in their faith and understanding.  Thank you to the parents who as First Educators of your  children continue through your example to shower your children in love and understanding of the faith.  Also to our  Parish and school staff, particularly our class teachers and our Religious  Education Leader Mrs Dawn Heldt for their preparation and support.

We congratulate and pray for the following Grade 4 students from 3/4A, 3/4D, 3/4IL, 3/4N & 3/4R:

Alastair, Grace, Max, Chelsea & Samantha, Andy, Anthony, Arrthee, Sophie, Heather, Michelle & Vivian, Billy, Stephanie, Lachy, Charlotte, Mia, Brendan, Laura, Tara, Rhianna, Lucas, Damian, Phoenix, Maximus, Alicia, Matilda, Lucky, Deon, Georgia,Oliver and Athena and from the parish: Nicola, Giancarlo, Cameron, Emily and Amelia.

Principal Conference

This  Sunday morning May 20th  I will be travelling with the South Eastern Catholic Principals to the Annual Principals Conference which this year will be held in Broome. We will be attending various schools and the Education Office in the diocese to further our understandings around and appreciation for  Indigenous Australians.  I will return on Monday 28th May. In my absence please contact the school office or Julie Cooke who will be charge of the school.

NAPLAN

This week our Year 3 & 5 students have been busy completing NAPLAN assessments. We hope that these tests have given the students a chance to show their true abilities. We remind all parents and students that this is one assessment and a snap shot in a short period of  time. We need to also gauge how each student is progressing against a  myriad of  school assessments. For any concerns or questions the class teachers are only too happy to assist.
