“A Room With A View”-Mixed Media Drawing

During the isolation period, the Year 7 and Year 9 art students completed a task that required them to create a mixed media artwork. The artwork had to depict the interior of a room within their house and also show the view outside through a window or a doorway. The students also had to apply Form, Tone, Line, Space (perspective) and Pattern in their final artwork.

The artworks that were created were outstanding and many students used a variety of materials and objects found at home to glue on or include in their works. These are just a small example of the excellent work that our students completed at home.

Year 9 Art

The Arts/Technology Department would like to celebrate the success of our many, highly talented and creative students.

In this unit of work students use a range of grey lead pencils while employing a grid transfer process to recreate their chosen image. Tone is the basis of form and results in the delightful illusion of a three dimensional form on a two dimensional surface. Students are highly engaged in this unit and continually comment that they enjoy the freedom of being able to choose the type of photograph they copy.

Type in Perspective

Year 7 students complete a term each of Visual Communication Design and Art. Term one saw students complete a VCD task that required them to design their name applying the drawing method of one point perspective. The design was tonally rendered to enhance the forms and students' own pattern was created on the front of each letter.
