From the Principal

Well done and thank you to our entire community for the way you have managed a very challenging term. We have all been on quite a learning journey and greatly appreciate everything that you have been doing at home.

As Nick mentioned in a recent communication with you, our teachers have worked incredibly hard to continue the learning for your children, transitioning from on-site learning to remote and back again. As you can appreciate, assessment has been more challenging in such an environment and as a result the release of assessment tasks will not occur until the third week of term 3. However, progress reports will be available for viewing by the end of this week.

Staffing

A couple of weeks ago we said farewell to our wonderful librarian, Sherri Michael, who has retired.  We appreciate all that Sherri did to support our students, staff and community and wish her well in her retirement.

I am delighted to welcome our new Librarian – Clare Murayama.  Clare is an experienced librarian and we are thrilled to have her join the team.

We also thank and farewell Diane Patron (French) and Meital Gofman (Hebrew) and thank them for all of their work in supporting the language education of our students this semester.

We will welcome back Celine Fompudie (French / Humanities) commencing term 3.

Caulfield Racecourse Reserve Draft Land Management Plan

Aaron Petersen and myself have represented the College on the Caulfield Racecourse Reserve Community Project Advisory Group.

The draft Land Management Plan for the Caulfield Racecourse Reserve will be unveiled on Monday 29th June and open for community consultation.

The Plan will outline the proposed initiatives that will help bring the Reserve to life and how a range of community benefits might be realized through innovative partnerships and project opportunities.

The proposed initiatives address the issues that have been raised, including demand for dedicated, year-round sporting facilities, greater community and cultural spaces, better and more equitable access as well as a place for quiet and informal recreation

You can have your say on the draft Land Management Plan from Monday 29th June – Friday 14th August.

For the latest updates on the Plan, follow the Reserve’s Facebook Page or visit their website at www.crrt.org.au

Some Reminders

Students are requested to bring to school each day:

  • a small hand sanitiser for personal use at lockers and in bathrooms
  • their own clearly labelled large drink bottle with water only.  Students are not permitted to use the drinking fountains at school.
  • their own headphones to school. We will not be able to loan students headphones as they are difficult to clean.

We have plenty of space in our bike racks for students on both sides of Booran Road.  Students must lock their bikes in the bike rack and not leave them lying around the school.

Wishing our students and families a safe and happy break.
