New Plans for Glen Huntly Shopping Centre and Station

Glen Eira Council has released a new plan for Glen Huntly shopping centre, future development, new station, bike & walking paths. Comments invited until July 23. The plan is ambitious for new development & enhanced public places & transport connections. It includes connecting bike paths on Frankston train line to Djerring Skyrail path @ Carnegie - great! But misses completing & improving the Neerim Rd bike lane to GEC. The current bike lane has many gaps especially near GEC & station where GEC students need it most. Neerim/Booran/Glen Eira Rds bike lanes serve 9000 students @ schools along its length & serves 3 council libraries, shopping centres & is the best route to the Bay in Glen Eira. This route is on the states principal bike network but is missed in the proposed new Glen Huntly plan & Glen Eira's transport plan. Have a look @ the plan & please make comments. Victorian LGBTIQ Strategy – invitation to comment

The Victorian Government is seeking input to develop the whole of government LGBTIQ strategy. A discussion paper sets out the history of progress for LGBTIQ people in Victoria, as well as current challenges and opportunities. The Minister for Equality and Commissioner for Gender and Sexuality, support Victorian’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender diverse, intersex, and queer (LGBTIQ) individuals and communities and the strategy.  The government is particularly asking;

What do you think should be the priorities and areas of focus for the Victorian Government?

How can the Victorian Government improve the lives of LGBTIQ people with diverse attributes and experiences, such as being from a culturally diverse background, living with a disability, or experiencing family and/or intimate partner violence?

What role can you or your organisation play to improve the lives of LGBTIQ Victorians?
