INTERNATIONAL STUDENT NEWS

This week at our Wednesday Well-Being Google Meet, Lauren Pilakis, Collingwood College School Nurse, presented to Year 8-10 internationals students on Sexual Health. This was an educational and informative presentation on the importance of sexual health and safety. This is the second of a series of health sessions being offered to our international students.

It was wonderful to welcome our Year 7 and VCE students back to face-to-face teaching and learning.  It was obvious from the laughter and smiling faces that students felt happy to be back in the classrooms with peers.  The International Students Support Team met with the Year 7 and VCE cohort as a check-in and students completed a short survey about their learning experiences.

We would like to share some comments with you:

‘Class mates help me’

‘I get help with every teacher just like friends’

‘The teachers are always willing to go out of their way, spending their leisure time to help struggling students’

‘Teachers ask me frequently about how I am doing’

‘Everyone always listens and supports me’

We look forward to seeing Year 8-10 international students when they return and wish them the very best with the next week of remote learning. Students are reminded to have a healthy sleep routine and prepare for getting up and ready for arriving at school on time with all necessary equipment for their classes.

Our VCE students are again encouraged to stay positive and remain focused on their studies and exam revision, and to maximise assistance offered by their teachers at this time.   You are all doing an amazing job!  A special thank you to our International Student School Captains, Cassandra Leong and Davidin Ath, for leading the VCE team.

Take Care,

The International Support Team
