English in Years 3 and 4

RECIPROCAL READING

Our Years 3 and 4 students have been using Reciprocal Reading strategies to enhance their comprehension skills. 

 

During Reciprocal Reading the teacher works with students to further develop their comprehension. The strategies they use are: predicting, clarifying, questioning and summarising. Each student assumes a role, such as predictor, and uses leading questions to prompt responses about the text from other students in the group.
