Farewell
We farewell Ms Vanessa Will and Ms Jemima Burkinshaw who are leaving our school to take up other opportunities. I thank them for their contribution to our school especially this year through Distance Learning and wish them every success in the coming year.
Years 5/6 Public Speaking Course
The students have successfully completed a seven week course with this year's focus of Debating. The Grand Finale this week showed the confidence and skills that all students have learnt through the lessons Mrs Sandra De Geest so professionally delivered to them. They should all be very proud of their efforts. I am sure that they are all practicing putting their point forward at home with so much effort and confidence. (See separate page for photos).
2020 Victorian Premier's Reading Challenge
Congratulations to the following students who received a Certificate of Achievement:
Angelo H, Sasha, Anara, Leon T, Rafael H, Tarun, Chiara, Maya.
Salesian College Award
Francis from Year 6 is one of the lucky students selected to the Year 7 Biretta Class in 2021 at Salesian College, Congratulations to Francis!
School Advisory Team (SAT) 2020
It was decided at the last meeting that the SAT team membership will carry over into next year with current members. Even though we had online meetings, I proposed that the team would be given an opportunity to continue the work undertaken this year. I thank Karen Massier who continues to act as Chairperson. Farewell to Katie Wyatt and many thanks for her contribution this year. We wish Katie and her family a successful transition interstate.
PFA 2020
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the dedicated PFA committee members who had a great start to the year and then had to put so many events on hold. The determination to continue the online Zoom meetings is a credit to Co-Presidents Troy Fryar & Scott Sinclair who are eagerly waiting for 2021 to begin their new campaign for our school community.
I would like to acknowledge the retiring Treasure, Scott Miller, who has for the last 5 years
kept the accountability for the funds in control to the last cent. Your effort throughout these years has been greatly appreciated. Thank you to Wes Folkard who will take over the role next year.
Parking Restrictions
I bring to your attention that Parking Officers are out in force checking the No Standing Zones and two Minute drop off areas at the moment and are issuing fines for illegal parking.
Face Masks
Very important information. In conjunction with Catholic Education Guidelines, our school protocol still states that any adult attending the school grounds eg: accompanying their children or collecting them, must wear a face mask.
School Fees
Please note that the school has maintained the 2020 Fees and Levies for 2021 with no changes. As always, if you have any difficulties please contact me so that we can discuss a management plan.
Lord,
help us to get ready,
to prepare ourselves to welcome You
into our hearts
and to live as Your people always,
Amen
Margaret Carlei
