Celebrating our fabulous Foundies!
Students learn about important characteristics of kind friends, what social skills are and opportunities to practise them. Skills such as making yourself included, including others, resolving conflict, sharing, learning how to win/lose are all explored though discussion, games and craft in this unit.
Whole class photo from photo day! Practising our smiles and looking at the camera. What a cute bunch.
Some beautiful writing by an FA student. Students have been writing stories with the beginning already written. They have to think of a creative idea for a problem and solution! They have all come so far with writing!
Each morning Foundation B practise our reading, either with a partner or to ourselves. We have been working on sitting, elbow to elbow, knee to knee and making sure we are listening to our partner whilst they are reading. Below is Austin and Marlon reading to each other.
Gardening this week WAS AMAZING! We harvested some GIANT carrots, rhubarbs, strawberries and some of us even tried a cherry for the first time and loved it! Here is Hamish, super proud of the carrot he harvested!
Last week we made 'Buckets' so we could all be ‘bucket fillers’. We filled our buckets with kind notes. These notes made us all feel amazing!
We read the book ‘The Dot’. Then we turned our dots into some very creative pictures and wrote about them.
