Principal's Message

Welcome back...again!

It is great to have all of our students back onsite at the College for the first time in many months. I definitely had to tippy-toe to match height with some of the secondary students...actually even with a few of the Primary students too!  Certainly a lot of growth has taken place and it is truly a blessing to see everyone back again.

Year 9 Stepping Up Programme

Our Year 9’s have missed a significant portion of their Stepping Up programme which in my perception is one of the best programmes we offer at Heritage College. The fabulous leaders of our Year 9 programme decided to reconnect our students in Year 9 with a first day barbeque. I look forward to our Year 9’s hopefully being able to complete the year with an approved excursion.

Changes, changes, changes…

Praise the Lord that we are on our way to a place of normality!  As many of you will have already heard Premier Dan Andrews announced the lifting of various restrictions across Metro Melbourne.  So what does this mean for our school? There are not many changes however, here are a few guidelines:

  • Outdoor sport (contact and non contact) can resume - hooray for lunchtime and recess games!
  • Masks will remain in place for the foreseeable future.  Likely for the remainder of the year.
  • Students will be required to maintain hygiene practices at all times - washing and sanitising hands often

If there are any other major changes to school operations we will let you know as soon as possible.   If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call or email our front office team.

Financial Support - 0% Fee Increase

For those who missed the email a few weeks ago, the Heritage College School Council and Leadership team decided, due to the immense challenge of 2020 and the significant time students spent at home for learning, that families will receive a 0% increase in school tuition fees for 2021.  This is a significant decision and is aimed at acknowledging the difficulty families faced during the year that has been.

Finally,

Matthew 14:20
So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained.”

Jesus fed over 5000 people with only a fish and two loaves of bread.  What an amazing miracle.  Just remember this, whoever comes to the Lord’s table to eat, will always leave satisfied and well fed.   This means physically fed - God will always provide food for you; Spiritually - there is always enough “bread of life” to go around and also mentally - God has ways to feed your mind and grow you to be the best person for God you can be!  Are you ready to be filled?  Simply pray to God and ask.  I can’t wait to hear your story.

Keep Safe

Stay safe everyone and please let us know if you need help or have any questions about school operations or plans.  We will be revealing a few plans shortly regarding the end of the year presentation night and graduation dinners.  Watch this space.  Otherwise I hope you enjoy the final Bible message, to give us hope and encouragement.  A brighter day is definitely coming.
