From Principal Team

Dear Lakes Families,

The school community is so pleased that we have our full compliment of students in school for face to face learning. Our attendance is exceptional and students have returned to school with enthusiasm and a passion to finish the year on a positive note. We are all working together to address the student’s learning needs and plans for a successful term four.  We can clearly see that as parents and guardians you have played a huge role in preserving the educational and emotional needs of your children. Congratulations for your outstanding efforts.

Similarly, today we celebrate World Teacher’s Day !!!!!!!!!

It is with pride that we thank the extraordinary efforts of teachers throughout this year. They have had to learn new ways to facilitate learning, continue to engage and inspire students to learn, manage their own children and families, collaborate effectively amongst each other and support children of essential workers.  This day marks the anniversary of the adoption of the 1966 United Nations

Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers. It sets standards regarding the rights and responsibilities of teachers for their initial preparation, further education, recruitment, employment, and learning conditions. The 2020 message: “With the theme: ‘Young Teachers: The Future of the Profession,’ we recognise the critical importance of reaffirming the value of the teaching mission. We call upon governments to make teaching a profession of first choice for young people. Above all, we celebrate the work of dedicated teachers around the world who continue to strive every day to ensure that ‘inclusive and equitable quality education’ and the promotion of ‘lifelong learning opportunities for all’ become a reality in every corner of the globe.”

Please take a moment to reflect and appreciate the support and guidance, commitment and passion our teachers demonstrate and model on a daily basis. Their energy, smile and compassion, uncompromising desire to see each child succeed and a relentless personal best attitude is an inspiration to us all.

Congratulations Lakes Teachers on a very special 2020 version of World Teacher’s Day!

Have a lovely weekend and Cup Day! It will be nice and warm so stay safe and make use of the outdoors!
