Transition To Work

Providing interested students with work and life skills that prepare them for life beyond school is essential when designing individualised learning plans for each student. WWHS Careers Advisor, Ms Blewitt explained 'Our Transition to Work program is a aimed at students who may leave school before completing the HSC or are interested in a trade-related career or need further development of life skills. Helping our students be well prepared for the future is what we constantly focus on.

We are so grateful that local business owners like Wee Waa Tyres Service's proprietor, Mitch Hamilton enthusiastically partner with us to provide students with these opportunities.'

Local Careers Seminar

A recent local careers seminar was a big hit with high school students from Wee Waa and Narrabri. Students got to engage with and hear from many local employers about the terrific range of career opportunities on their door step now and into the future, the relevant subjects to study and how to go about applying.  Thanks to Narrabri High School for hosting the seminar.

Using The JOB JUMP Website Puts You A Big Jump Ahead

Our school subscribes to a fantastic careers website called Job Jump. This subscription enables all students in Years 10, 11 and 12 to search careers types or university courses based on their anticipated ATAR score and on their subjects of interest. They can store their resume here and find out exactly what HSC subjects they need to study to give themselves the best chance of gaining entry to the degree, diploma or pathway program they want to study.

Each week we receive a bulletin outlining courses, scholarships and other opportunities offered by education and training organisations. We highly recommend parents and carers read these.
