3/4 Camp Sunnystones

Carla - “On the last day we played a survival game in the bush and it was great to learn about the food chain, and ‘steal’ tags from my friends. I also liked the hut building because we had to work as a team and we had to listen to everyone’s ideas. My team’s hut was pretty good but another group made an even better one”.

Sophie D - “I really enjoyed the survival game at the end because I saw lots of my friends being very kind to others. I loved the food there. My favourite food was the desert on night one; it was a butterscotch pudding with vanilla ice-cream (yum!)”.

Daniel - “At camp, although the weather was very bad and really hot, we did get to eat icy poles which were very yummy. My favourite part was when we were getting changed into our pyjamas but I fell asleep in my bunk and Christian had to wake me up. It was really funny. We then watched ‘Finding Dory’ all together before bed”.

Mason - “Camp was so fun. I loved all of it, but if I had to choose the best bit, it would probably be hanging out in my cabin with my friends. We played a game of hide-and-seek in the dark and we had fun pulling funny faces with our torches”.

Life-Saving Victoria Session

Jake - “I really liked the life-saving sessions because there were fun games and we learnt how to help people if they are in trouble, such as, you can use a pool noodle to help someone who is drowning or you can throw them buggy board to grab hold of tail roll so the waves crash on top of you”.

Evie - “I learnt that when you fall out of a boat, you tread water in a circle so that nobody drifts away from the boat and this keeps you warm too. You should also do a headcount to check that all of your group is safe. My favourite activity was the buggy board activity because we all played a really fun game at the end”.

Felix - “The games were really fun but we were also learning lots of things sat the same time. I learnt that when you do CPR you do 30 compressions and then take to breaths, and that even when you are fishing on the rocks, you should wear a life vest to stay safe”.

Ben - “I learnt that when you see a dark bit of water this could be a rip. If you see a rip you should float on your back and swim sidewards. I also learnt about the stages of CPR and that you can sing the song, ‘Baby Shark’ in your head and that will give you the rythmn that you need.
