Acting Principal's Report

Mr Chris Grimmer

Camps Success

I would like to sincerely thank our staff who have done a wonderful job of engaging students in some terrific activities whilst on camp last week. Mrs Hayley Willison & Mr Ash Hill spent several days in Echuca last week on the Equine Camp, which was a fantastic experience for our students, while the Year 3-4 students spent three days in Ballarat on their camp. Ms Jaymie-Lee Lyell, Ms Megan Downes, Mrs Sue Gardiner, Mr Jarrod Searle and Mrs Wendy Finn accompanied our students to Ballarat.  They did a great job of caring for the group and ensuring they had wonderful memories of their Ballarat experience. There are so many extra- curricular activities happening across the College, all of which take time and effort to organise, but most importantly are extremely beneficial for our students.

Chinese Visitors

This Saturday our special guests from Dali No 1 Middle School in China will be arriving for their visit to Merbein P-10 College.  As in previous years, our visiting students will be hosted by local families who will provide accommodation and will welcome our visiting students warmly. Our students and staff are keenly awaiting their visit to our school and are looking forward to further strengthening the friendship that has been developed between Dali and Merbein. Our host students have been preparing for the visit by undertaking a study of Chinese history and culture.  Six  of our Year 10 students and Mr Scott Johnson will then have the opportunity to visit Dali No 1 School in September this year, which will be a fantastic experience for the group.
