Hockey & Respecting our Environment

Congratulations Girls!!

Year 8 Girls Hockey

On Friday 18th October the Year 8 girls hockey team went out to Hawthorn Hockey Club to play in their Southern Metropolitan Region Finals. The girls had two games to get through against two other schools that were also the champions of their Divisions.

First up they played Mount Eliza and came away with a tight 1-0 victory. Next up was Frankston HS and in a very close and well fought out game the Brighton girls managed to score the winning goal with only minutes left in the game. The final score was 2-1. For the second year in a row this group of girls have won themselves the title of SMR Champions!

The win puts the girls through to the State Finals on Monday 11th November. We wish the girls and Ms Gibson all the best of luck for the day, we know they will play their hearts out.

On another note

Respecting our environment, learning spaces and each other…

Unfortunately, last week our school oval was seen to be particularly badly littered with rubbish. The 9 ELHES class decided to use some of their class time to do something about it! Together the class collected over 10 bags of rubbish from around the oval, on the back 4-square courts and around the P-block.

The cleaner environment created a better and safer teaching and learning space for Phys Ed classes as well as for students to play at lunch. Hopefully, together, we can continue to provide each other and ourselves with a litter free environment in which to learn and enjoy.
