What's been happening in French

Year 12 French – A huge thank you to my lovely year 12 class for working hard until the very end. It was great to chat with them about their performance, the Speaking Examination in Box Hill, which took place last week. Relieved that it is over, however it is not all over yet. We are now waiting for the Written Examination which will take place on the 19th of November at 3 pm.

Year 11 French – This week we will officially finish all French SACs and due to some great changes to the French Study Design, year 11 students will finish this week with a very colourful Oral Presentation which focuses on a cultural aspect of La Francophonie. I am so proud of all the work that you do and so impressed with your dedication and beautiful French pronunciation. Well done Year 11!

The murals- designed and created by the Year 9s. And the winner is?

The French students are very proud of their murals which will really assist with the learning of the 17 verbs that take être in the Pasé Composé. They thoroughly enjoyed a little competition.

Year 7 French- as always, full of colour and interactive activities.

Teaching French through music - Year 7 French students have also learnt quite a number of French songs which have been great for discussing French culture, history and at times for simply practising that beautiful French accent. Here is small list of some of our favourites.

Our favourite band Avalon Jazz Band - I love Paris, Que reste-t-il de nos amours? J’ai ta main, Darling je vous aime beaucoup and so many more…

Our favourite females- Eartha Kitt, Edith Piaf and Stacey Kent – Under the bridges of Paris, Je cherche un homme, Je ne regrette rien, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo and so much more…

Our loudest songs – Chanson d’amour, French Foreign Legion and the Alphabet Techno song.

I am more than happy to take requests from our mums and dads; simply send me an email with your favourite song, as we are always looking for a new one. I so look forward to hearing from you. 😊
