Year 7 Embroidery

Students create a sampler learning eight stitches, running, seed, back, stem, satin, blanket, French knots and applique. They create their own design from their research and using an embroidery hoop and thread create their artwork.

Recently we have begun to use paint to fill in larger areas, which is very effective and creates a piece of Textile Art. After the initial the Sampler, students create a final piece of Textile Art as seen here, with a variety of stitches and embellishments to create some beautiful works.
