From the Assistant Principal

From Mrs Hopkins' office....

The end of the year can be an emotional time for children and adults alike. This morning I did the last ever kinder/childcare drop off for our youngest child and hadn't considered that it would feel any more momentous than any other day. But wow, bam, right in the feels. I know many of our leaving families have a bittersweet feeling this week because there are magnificent adventures ahead but it also feels like a definite door closing. There's something exciting about that feeling too though because no matter what is ending for you this week (the first year, the last year, or the somewhere in the middle year) it has added another fun filled chapter to your story. The highs and lows would all make for a great read!

Thank you Kalinda for another wonderful year. It is my greatest privilege to be a part of the Kalinda Community, I look forward to working with you in 2020. If your story is moving on to "Volume 2: The new school" then please make sure that you visit!

2020 Student Leaders

Congratulations to Savannah, Ryan, Heidi and Lochie who have been appointed the 2020 School Leaders. This year our leaders were chosen through a process of leadership speeches, preferential peer voting, staff feedback and attendance at an interview with School Leadership. We are so proud of every one of the students who exhibited bravery and pride by putting themselves forward as future leaders. We are in good hands with the Class of 2020!

Exiting students.

Please note that during late January, if your student is leaving Kalinda (including Grade 6s) access to your child's Compass accounts and Google Drive will be removed as they move into a new school system.

After this time you will not have access to their Student reports.

We would advise that you use the next month to download PDF reports from Compass (if you haven't already) for your records, as well as encouraging your child to download work that they would like to keep from their Google Drive.

We are kind. We are resilient. We are respectful.
