Busy would be the word to describe the start of term 2 for Kuta-kaya. Keep reading to find out what we have been up to! 

 

Marin Gardeners! 

Marin class have been busy out in the garden during their Work Skills lessons. The students have been brushing up on their gardening skills, identifying native plants and weeds, as well as giving the pavers a tidy up. All the students in Marin will be well seasoned gardeners before you know it! 

 

Kirawa Scientists! 

In Science, Kirawa have been interacting with elements (playing snap) and creating an interactive Periodic Table in our classroom and constructed atomic models. Here’s a joke for you; Do you know any jokes about Sodium? Na.  

 

Kukaparr Responsible Pet Owners! 

As previously announced Ben and Jerry are the newest members in the Kukaparr classroom! Each day Kukparr have a rotation of jobs they complete to make sure all needs of being meet of Ben and Jerry! Cleaning out the enclosure, filling the water jug up, cut up the fresh food and of course plenty of pats and cuddles! 

 

Wuwing Hair Stylists! 

Wuwing have learned all about what it takes to become a hairdresser! The students found images of styles they liked and created a procedural list on how to care for our hair. They also opened a hair salon! The students loved having the chance to learn how to create hairstyles as well as being pampered themselves! 

 

Kawul Chefs! 

Kawul as always cooking up a storm during their Community Access Program Fridays! The latest CAP Day was Waffles and Ice-cream, How yummy! 

 

 

 

 

 

Warikal Beautification Team! 

Warikal have been working towards beautifying the Kuta-kaya backyard! This week’s project was tackling the spikey bush. Great Work Warikal! 

Two of our senior students are also out on Work experience at the moment! Mickeala at Dog overboard and Darcy at Mitre 10! How awesome are our senior students?  

Chips at the park for community access was also a highlight for some of our students.

 

Pintu Marine Biologists! 

Pintu were lucky enough to visit the Irukandji Shark and Ray Centre where they experienced the sharks and rays up close. It was a fantastic day with beauty weather and lots of awesome marine animals to explore! 

 

As we move into the colder months it is important to make sure our students are wearing warm school uniform. If you need assistance with accessing uniform please contact the office or your teacher to get some assistance with this.
