FAITH - HOPE - LOVE

"For now there are faith, hope, and love. But of these three, the greatest is love."

1 Corinthian 13:13

The WCC community have had discussions regarding the importance of giving and service, and that it is a symbol of Love, Faith and Hope. We shared that it does not matter the size of the contribution or act, that it comes from our heart, with love and care. During Assembly we discussed how an act of kindness can bring someone closer to God. We encouraged our children to talk and share how an act of kindness can warm the heart of so many and shine the light of Christ.  It is from this that we have begun our first service project.

The WCC Student Council Representatives have been collaborating the past few weeks on supporting a project which centres on faith, support, care and service. The chosen mission is the Christian Resource Care - Indigenous Project. A member from Kingston City Church, Mrs Salome Rajaratnam has travelled to Alice Springs. She has planned a three month visit and the focus is to support the community and share the Christian message.

Our WCC students planned a Pyjama Fundraising day on Thursday 23 June to support Salome’s work, we welcomed gold coin donations.

The project fundraising will support the purchase of a 12-seater bus to transport indigenous families to church from town camps and outer suburbs, for community activities and to help indigenous patients from the renal-dialysis hospital for their transport needs. To date the students have raised $470, and we will continue to find ways to support the community. The Year 4 students with Miss Deane, also chose to write to Salome and the Alice Springs community.

Semester Reports

The students reports were available on Compass from 3:00pm on Friday 24 June. We encourage parents to take the time to view the report, as it provides feedback on academic progress and approaches to learning.

The information contained in your child’s report provides a summary of their achievement, attitude, behaviour and effort throughout the semester. These reports are part of numerous strategies which the College uses to communicate student’s progress and will be most beneficial when read in conjunction with your child’s workbooks, parent/teacher interviews, teacher/student contact and other work samples or communication.

Happy Holidays

Wishing our WCC community a wonderful, safe and blessed holiday, enjoying time with family and friends.  While parents collected their children on Friday, there was shared appreciation of our amazing teachers and how their hard work and dedication is greatly appreciated. We wish them rest and renewal during the term break.

We also wish Mrs Julie-Ann Naughton and her family all the best with their move to London and welcome Mr Renato Leonardis to Year 3. Mrs Candida Nadar has been with the College since 2019 and we wish her all the best in her move. We wish them both wonderful blessings in all their days ahead.
