Planning for the future

Here at GSG we are constantly looking to improve and plan for the future. To that end, we have just commenced participation in a design thinking project led by a group called NoTosh.  Over the coming months this will see us, as a school, ask questions and seek feedback from all corners of the community: students, parents, staff and other community members.  As we gain this feedback, we will bring all these ideas together into a central space - a Project Nest - which will inform the next steps in the process. You'll see in coming weeks this 'Nest' - a place for growing and synthesising ideas - take shape and you are welcome to contribute.  Keep an eye out for opportunities to contribute your ideas: you may be invited to a forum, to illustrate an idea in pictures, to provide your ideas on a sticky note or take part in a short interview.  We look forward to hearing from you and sharing our progress.

2023 Forward Planning

Great Southern Grammar is engaged in forward planning for 2023 and beyond in subschools, classrooms and boarding houses. Effective forward planning is aided if we have a well-founded indication, by the end of Term Two, of boarding students entering the school in 2023, and those who may be considering leaving.

It is therefore timely to remind families now that, where a boarding student withdrawal is anticipated, notice is required.

For residential students, the GSG Fee Schedule states that: A Boarding House offer of enrolment is made for the full school year. Withdrawal of a student from the Boarding House, or changing the status of a residential boarder to a day student, requires two full terms’ notice in writing. In default of that notice, one term’s boarding fee is payable.

For day students, the Fee Schedule states that: One full term’s notice must be provided in writing to the Principal before withdrawal, including students leaving at the end of the year. In default of that notice, one half term’s tuition fee is payable.

I therefore encourage families to please start a conversation with me or the Registrar, Mrs Julia Bairstow, as soon as possible if you anticipate a change in your circumstances affecting your child/ren's enrolment at GSG. Thank you for your partnership in supporting the school’s forward planning process. It is very much appreciated.
