Hope you all had a lovely time last break & managed to get some family time together. We have a wonderful term ahead of us this term. Lots of exciting things happening. Here is a copy of the term calendar for your reference. I will add it to our Dojo also.
Over the holidays we celebrated NAIDOC week in our communities. As a school we will engage in activities this week & throughout the term. We are heading off to Toowoomba to the Cobb & Co museum to engage in some activities also. This excursion is on the 2nd & 3rd of August. We will head up in cohorts - Prep-2 Tuesday & then 3-6 on Wednesday. More info can be found on their website - https://cobb.qm.qld.gov.au /Learning+Resources/Schools/Learning+Programs/Have+Another+Look+Captain+Cook
Paperwork & details will be coming home soon.
Our indigenous students have been invited to Laidley High on 21st July to join in Indigenous games. Ms McGregor & Hep will meet students there to supervise them. Forms for this went home last term & were due back Monday.
3/4 & 5/6 students are heading off on camp this term. Teachers will send out further information as it comes closer. Please ensure you are up to date with your payments for these, finalised payment needs to be made by 5th August. Class teachers and the office are points of contact for any queries.
Our Transition to school program starts on Wednesday 27th July and continues all term. Parents are required to attend with their children and the school will provide support and information to parents also during this session.
The final installment of payment for this is due this term. Please organise payments as you can. Preferred method of payment is QKR! or BPoint.
This term on Thursday 4th August we will be holding our parent teacher interviews in the afternoon. I will send out a link for these bookings on Class Dojo in the coming weeks.
Another reminder about the safety of using our drop off lane correctly. We have started putting cones out again to ensure the bus has the needed space to park to collect students. Parents are to stay in their car and keep moving forward to ensure there is room for more cars. We have also witnessed cars doing u-turns across double lines and over painted islands. Please ensure you are following these guidelines for the safety of all.
Here is a thought provoking article about the importance of belonging and how a shirt can help us do that & so much more. After all is this not one of our most important needs?
Have a wonderful month, please read the newsletter carefully and keep an eye on our socials & dojo for updates.
Cheers
