Weekes' Weekly News

Learning, growing and celebrating together...

Term 2 was loads of fun - such a short time, but so many exciting events and activities.

As we end Semester One, we look back with pride on the many things that we have accomplished - in one of the more ‘normal’ setups we have seen for some time (no wonder we are all a little bit tired as we now catch our breath).

Term Two has been fast paced and 'full on', as we celebrated (amongst other things):

Classroom Helpers back in the classroom

ANZAC Day

Mothers’ Day Stall and Mothers’ Day Morning Tea

2023 Prep interviews

School Tours

Evacuation Drills

Walkathon

Interschool Sports

NAPLAN

District Cross Country

Ladies Lunch

Year Four Camp

Incursions/Excursions

Year Two Experience

Georgina Manning Parent Staff & Parent Presentation

School Disco

Wellbeing Day/Colour Run

Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Celebration and Mass/Sacred Heart Food Drive

Along with all of the above, a ton of learning has taken place, with children in classrooms for the whole semester this year (thank goodness).

Believe it or not, one of the many ‘perks’ of my job as Principal is reading all school reports. No seriously, this is a perk! Hearing of each child’s learning progression and growth is a wonderful thing. Finding out how they have settled into their new year level and class, managed new expectations and routines, their various interactions with peers, Specialist subject challenges and successes, areas to focus on next, all combine to paint the Semester One picture for each child at Sacred Heart Kew. Thank you to our classroom and specialist subject teachers for preparing these personable and detailed documents. Happy Reading - please share these with your children and celebrate their many and varied achievements so far this year. Well done to all our children for your efforts, persistance and triumphs! I am so proud of you all.

Thanks to all school community members for your valuable contributions to a rewarding and successful Term Two and Semester One. I am sure everyone will agree that after all of the above, we all deserve and look forward to a restful school holiday break, a time to ‘switch off’ from the busyness of life.

May you and your family find somewhere warm to spend your down time.

Take care everyone. See you all back at school on Monday 11 July.

Kind Regards,
