Farewell Year 12 Class of 2017

The final formal day of classes for Year 12 students were completed this week and we celebrated this important milestone with breakfast, their final Assembly and Chapel and their parade.  This is a journey of 13 years of schooling, some beginning in Prep and others joining along the way.  It was great to see parents, grandparents and siblings (past and current students) share this time together. With so many visitors the final assembly and chapel was an intimate celebration with the Year 12 students and their families.

I spoke to students on the theme, 'What a Wonderful World' offering some words on how Life is sweet and Life is sharp and that they will need to travel this path.  There will be much that brings them happiness and joy, much of which will be simple such as care, laughter and love. But there will be difficult times and that they will need to be resilient and lean on those who they trust and believe in who they are.

Each student has their own unique talent which has been nurtured in a safe and secure environment. Now they are leaving the safety of the nest to face new challenges and new experiences.  They were reminded that it is exciting times ahead and they should enjoy each the moment and that life does not need to be perfect to be wonderful knowing that God loves them because of who God is, not because of anything they did or did not do.

This was our last opportunity to present Year 12 Brookhill Colours for outstanding participation in Service, Cultural, House and Sport activities. Some will be in line to receive College colours at Presentation Night.

Thank you to the many parent helpers who prepared and cooked breakfast, the spread was amazing and was really enjoyed by the students.

The College continues to receive very positive news in relation to early offers for University placements for a large number of our Year 12 students. We wish all our Year 12 students every success in the next few weeks.

College Leaders

Congratulations to the students who have been selected as our 2018 College leaders. They have been involved in an extensive selection process including giving speeches, voting and interviews. With many outstanding students applying for various positions it was a very difficult task. Announcements were made at last week's Assembly with a handover from current captains.  We wish them well as they take on new responsibilities.

We thank the 2017 leaders for their great contributions this year.

Open Evening

The College is busy with  preparation for our Open Evening. Staff and students have been busy preparing a range of activities including College Tours for prospective families, the Art and Design Exhibition, the Twilight Concert and the Parents and Friends Association with  their barbecue and pre-loved uniform sale.  All members of our community are welcome to attend.
