Principal's Report

Thanks to the Smile Squad from Dental Health Services Victoria, today all students received a received a free toothbrush and toothpaste.

Lunchtime netball began this week with practice drills and games. Many thanks to Kathryn for her organisation and to all staff for their support.  The program will run each day, with the exception of Wednesdays, when choir is running.

 

From tomorrow, students in Years 3-6 will also have the opportunity to extend their skills through a series of netball clinics with Chaye from Netball Victoria.  This is a five-week program and is a continuation of the program offered in 2021.

 

NAPLAN testing commenced this week for all students in Years 3 and 5.  The tests will continue next week. 

 

Parent/Teacher interviews will be held again this term, from Monday 23rd - Thursday 25th May.  Interviews will be held onsite and will provide a great opportunity for teachers and families to catch up face-to-face.  If you require an online meeting, please contact the school or your child's teacher.  More information on how to book will be sent out shortly.

 

A reminder that next Friday, 20th May is a pupil-free day, to enable staff to undertake curriculum planning and professional learning.  OSHC will be running for families who require childcare, however bookings are essential.

 

The Mount Beauty Running Festival will be held on Saturday the 21st May and students are encouraged to get involved!  For more information about the event and how to enter, please check the QR code in our Community Notices.

 

In order to provide emergency support to refugee children forced to flee their homes,  our school is participating in the 2 Billion Kilometres to Safety School Challenge. During May, our students are working towards the goal of walking 243km.  Families and friends are invited to sponsor our students as they work towards achieving this goal and so far we have received donations of $330.  For more information on how you can make a donation,please see our team page here.

 

Thank you to those families who have registered their interest for this year's Interschools skiing and boarding program.  If you haven't done so already and would like your child to be part of the Mount Beauty Primary School team, please email your interest in writing to the school by next Friday, 20th May.  For more information and to view the schedule of events, please refer to our Community News page.

*Rapid Antigen Test kits may still be collected from the office this week, but will cease from next Friday.  

 

*Please note that we will have two curriculum (pupil-free days) on Friday 20th May and Friday 3rd June.  OSHC will be running for families who require childcare.  Please note that bookings are essential.
