Positive Behaviour For Learning (PBL)

ST SIMON’S PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY

”POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR FOR LEARNING” (PBL)

Dear Parents and Carers,

Just an insight into our school’s Closure Day which was yesterday (pupil free Day).

The focus for the day was our new initiative ‘Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL).

We unpacked what this may look like in our school and what are the expectations and learning needs for all students. We reviewed what we as a whole school are doing really well and what practices are working positively for our students and what areas need to be addressed to enhance our student’s learning. Our PBL vision statement for the school is below:

“To support all within St Simon’s community to develop social-emotional behaviour in a consistent manner so to enhance learning.”

I would like to sincerely thank all the many families that were active participants and supported us by completing the PBL Survey I sent out a week or so ago. The responses were fantastic and we are so grateful for your insights and support. The information collected from that survey was very valuable and useful for us on the day and it was very much aligned with our thoughts.

The day was jam-packed full of discussions, collaboration, activity groups and the preparation of documents. This is just the beginning as this framework is a 5 year initiative with this year being our “Learning and preparation’ stage.

Looking forward to sharing more insights with you as we travel this journey together.

God Bless.
