BE INVOLVED, BE CONNECTED

We have had a busy and exciting start to Term 2 sports!

RUNNING

The 3-6 students completed their cross country trials in week 1. I was very proud of how each student stepped up and ran their personal best on the day. Our fastest runners will go on to represent our school at the Southport District Cross Country Carnival at Murphy Reserve on the 20th May.

Many of our students from grade 1-6 have been joining the Run Club at lunch times and learning about the benefits of regular running. Students are enjoying not only becoming fitter but feeling happier after completing a run.

Run Club will continue at lunch time in the kick off area on Thursdays for the rest of Term 2. If your child is keen to join in, please ensure they wear their PE uniform and running shoes on Thursdays.

After Cross Country our focus will be on athletics training and AFL. Parent helpers are always needed to umpire games and assist with Athletics and Cross Country events. If you can help out in any sports please let me know via email - Can.Osman@education.vic.gov.au

HOCKEY

The preps classes and some of our year 2s experienced their first hockey clinic run by coach Edwina from St Kilda & Powerhouse Hockey Club. Edwina was really impressed with the rising talent in our prep classes!
