PREPS 2023

If you have not put in an enrolment form for your prep child starting in 2023, please do so immediately as we need to finalise numbers. Please feel free to recommend South Melbourne Park to your friends as we can accept enrolments out of zone.

CURRICULUM DAY- JULY 11

We would like to give advance notice that Monday July 11 is a curriculum day.  July 11 is the first day of Term 3, hence students will return from their school holidays on Tuesday July 12.

LEADERSHIP DAY

At South Melbourne Park we value building the capacity of our teachers by offering quality, researched based professional learning. Early this week our team leaders spent the day with our leadership consultant Rob Csoti learning about coaching conversations. Our team leaders valued the opportunity to further develop their leadership skills and capacity.

FAMILIES & FRIENDS ELECTION BBQ THANK YOU

A huge shout out to our Family & Friends for organising the election BBQ and cake stall to be held on Saturday May 21.  Many thanks to parents who are donating goods or volunteering their time. The BBQ and cake stall is a great opportunity for the school to raise funds and help pay for the new play equipment. We hope you will support this fundraiser by coming to vote at our school gym or by baking cakes.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS

With the school open to all who have been vaccinated, we strongly encourage parents to come back and be classroom helpers. There are always opportunities for parents to assist. Children love having you in their learning spaces and teachers appreciate the help. Please do not feel as though this is limited to just the junior years, as older classes always have different ways you can help. Please contact your child’s teacher if you would like to be a parent helper.  Parent helpers are required to have a working with children check.

YEAR 2-6 PLAY EQUIPMENT

I hope you have had a chance to see the new play equipment that surround the beautiful 150-year-old heritage tree.  It is a real joy to watch the students having so much fun playing on this new equipment. For the first week we have been rostering year levels during lunchtime and recess as we all get used to how to play using this equipment.  Students in Prep and Year 1 are invited to have a play during school hours.
