Dear friends, 

I wanted to reach out as your school community celebrates some wonderful news. 

Last year I had the opportunity to work closely with the Northcote High community to successfully secure $8 million in funding for a brand new three-story STEM and library building.

It was the culmination of an incredible collaborative effort. Together we wrote a persuasive budget submission, tabled a petition to the Victorian Parliament and created an amazing video which put the voices of our students front and centre. 

Since that time, I’ve been working with NHS to make sure this project is the best it can be and delivers the facilities our students need for the future. 

To that end, I’m thrilled that we have been able to secure an additional $8.748 million as part of the 2022 State Budget to make this a truly state-of-the-art facility for generations to come.

This is a fantastic outcome for the school – congratulations!

Northcote High has an exciting future ahead. With the award-winning Performing Arts Centre and senior building completed, new competition-grade netball courts open, and the new STEM building set to begin construction this year - we are truly modernising your local school.

Altogether, it means over $21.3 million has been invested by the State Government into NHS in recent years.

My sincere gratitude also goes to Principal Jones and the School Council who have been instrumental partners and continue to work closely with me on our shared vision for Northcote High. 

I look forward to keeping you updated as designs are finalised and construction gets underway!
