Year 8 Camp

Camping at Kurth Kiln

Last week, we went on year 8 camp. The first night, I stayed at a lodge with half of the year 8s. On the first day, there were a few activities that my group did, and they were a low-ropes course, where you had to climb and walk over planks and climb through and on tires. Then there was the flying fox that was a lot of fun. The last one I did that day was where we had a person of aboriginal culture come and visit and tell us about the flora and fauna around the camp, and then we made scarfs with drawing of symbols that meant certain things of aboriginal life. And there was also orienteering that I did the next day before we went to camp.

The day we got to the camp, there were two more activities to do, and those were abseiling and caving. Abseiling was cool and there were two cliff faces to go down on, and one was higher than the other. Caving was the last activity I did, it was cool and a bit suspenseful, because I had to go through tight spaces. There were also glow worms in the cave, but they were really small.
