Principal's News

Mr Rodrigues

Dear Families,

As we are all aware, this weekend, on Saturday 21st May, Australian's across the country will be lining up at their local polling stations to cast their votes. Of course each one of us must make our own decision about who we believe is best to lead our country and this is a very personal decision based on our own needs and those of the people we care most about. What we are all hopeful for is that whoever is elected to power has the wellbeing of all Australians at the forefront of their minds so that their decisions can be made for the good of the entire country.  This year our school will host a polling station and I would encourage all of you to come and vote here. As advertised there will be a coffee van in attendance up until lunch time and a sausage sizzle and cake stall to cater to all the visitors. A very big thank you to our parents and friends for the incredible work and organization in ensuring these things could be in place for Saturday. I am sure I will have some wonderful photos to share in next week's newsletter.

NAPLAN

Our Year 3 & 5 students have now completed their online NAPLAN tests. The results of these will be available for parents and the school later in the year and I will keep you updated as to exactly when this wil be. These results will help guide us in looking at general trends in the areas of English and Numeracy so that we can continue to further develop our learning programs to meet the needs of each of our students.

Congratulations

On behalf of our whole school community I would like to say congratulations to Ms Anna Plackett on the birth of her baby Josie last week.

Ms Plackett's replacement teacher will commence in Term 3.

Prayer:

Dear God, thank You for the people who serve our country in leadership roles and for their families. Please provide our leaders with reminders each day of why they decided to dedicate their lives to public service, and use that commitment to encourage them.
Give them peace when their work takes them away from their families.
We also pray specifically for the partners, and children of our leaders. We ask that You draw near to them and give them the wisdom on how to best support one another while their loved ones are away working.

School Closure Day TOMORROW

Friday May 20th

Thank you once again for your support in enabling our staff to participate in what promises to be an extremely important and worthwhile professional learning opportunity on Friday. Whilst our student's learning is most certainly our number one priority, ensuring their teachers and all staff at Trinty are constantly updating their own skills and knowledge is a vital ingredient in providing a high quality learning environment for all.
