House and Interschool competitons

Intermediate Netball

Everyone turned up on the day showing enthusiastic spirits and positive attitudes to get the day started. The B team was undefeated for the entirety of their five games and won easily with nearly double the competition's score every game, even in the final against Cheltenham SC where the score was 24 - 8.

Everyone played a vital part in the team winning the day but the girls that specifically stood out to me were Olivia Ayyuce. Olivia uplifted the team during every quarter of each game and was a loud, encouraging voice for her team. Jordyn Dobbyn had beautiful tips and intercepts that were valuable for the team to score off and had a great attitude.  Ava Gryszan had a great day in defense, she had strong hands all over the ball whenever she stepped onto the court and guided the team in cohesive play down the court.

Overall the B Team were all champions and all had a fantastic day at netball and I was very proud of everyone's efforts.

The Intermediate A netball team had a successful day and will be competing at regionals.

Wrap up and reminder about upcoming sporting events

Congratulations to all our teams that have competed this term.  Well done team MGSC.

As the last few weeks of term approach, students and their parents/guardians are reminded that emails are sent out via Compass regarding events. Please ensure that the information is read carefully and that consent and payment is provided before the deadline. In the event in which a team member is unwell or unable to attend an event, please ensure this is communicated to either Ms Parker or the staff coach in charge in order to make alternative arrangements if needed.

All the best to our Year 8 Badminton, Netball and Soccer teams competing on Thursday 9 June and Year 7 teams competing on Friday 17 June. In addition, good luck to our cross country runners competing at the Southern Metropolitan Regional event on Thursday 23 June.

Stay warm and healthy as we march closer to the end of term 2!
