Library News

New Books

The popular Keeper of the Lost Cities series has arrived in the library and is available for student borrowing.  This series would suit our year 7 and year 8 students who are interested in the fantasy genre.

Karen McManus books are as popular as ever, as students patiently await her latest title Nothing More to Tell, which will be published in September.  These books are suitable for older YA readers, who enjoy a good murder mystery.

National Reconciliation Week Display

The library has a contemporary First Peoples collection which is now on display to mark National Reconciliation Week 2022.  This year’s theme is Be Brave, Make Change.  Narratives from authors such as Stan Grant, Marcia Langton, Sally Morgan and Bruce Pascoe give a reader insight into Indigenous art, astronomy, culture, farming practices, language, poetry, politics, historical injustices and detail their aspirations for the future.

Reading Lounge

The library reading lounge is a quiet space, exclusively for students who are reading books.  No devices are to be used in this area before/after school and during recess/lunchtimes.  Thank you for your cooperation.

NRW Colouring Competition

A big thank you to all students who participated and heartiest congratulations to the winners: Hailey Crebbin, Sophie Fowler, Kassia Hunder, Jemma Langford, Erin McClements, Tillie Renkin-Onwuji, Rachel Reid, Pepper Smith, Marina Uceda and Morgan  Wydeman.

A special mention to year 12 student, Rachel Reid for her superb entry.  With intricately detailed pen strokes and artistic references, this work of art is both beautifully dark and thought provoking.  All entries are displayed in the library for you to see.

Be a Butterfly

Drop by the library after school to get a snap of yourself as a butterfly.  Library staff are on duty to take the photograph and email it to you.  The theme of book week this year is Dreaming with your Eyes Open with butterflies featured in promotional material.  We will use your butterfly photos to promote our own celebration of book week next term.

Book Club

Term 2 books are available for loan at the library desk.  Our next meeting will be: Thursday 16 June at Lunchtime (bring your lunch) in the Library Seminar Room.  New members are welcome
