School of Possibilities
It has been a very exciting few weeks in the School of Possibilities. Students engaged in the VCE Subject Expo which explored some of the options available to the students next year. They also attended Careers Day Out. Have a read of Ava’s article below to find out more about this experience. We also received the exciting news that one of our students, Emily Gleeson, was awarded the prestigious Bishop Joe Grech Scholarship. Emily wrote a very thoughtful scholarship application and we are so proud to have her named our first-ever recipient. I hope that this award encourages other students to stand up and get involved! You can read more about Emily's scholarship in Sue Carroll's message on the "From the Principal" page in this edition of il giornale.
Families are reminded to book a Careers counselling session on PAM. If the available sessions do not suit, please do not hesitate to contact me at sbaglin@sackialla.catholic.edu.au to arrange a suitable time.

On Wednesday, May 18th, the Year 10 students went to Careers Day Out held in Shepparton. This day was for us to explore our potential pathways for the future. There was a variety of different stations available for us to visit, such as: construction stalls teaching us how to lay bricks; hospital stalls teaching us about the different types of blood tests and what they are used for; university stalls promoting their schools; emergency vehicles and emergency workers (police, paramedics and firefighters); nutritionists and many more. Having this range of different stalls gave us the opportunity to chat with the people running them. I enjoyed listening to Diana Miranda talk about her career journey and why she decided to become a nutritionist. I was inspired by her story because she went through a lot before finding what she was truly passionate about. Throughout the day, I learnt that it’s important to keep your options open and explore different pathways.
