Wheels Week Raises $1,816 for Pitjantjatjara Bible Project
Last week, our ELC children enjoyed Wheels Week to raise money to support - Mr Neil Blenkinsop's Pitjantjatjara Bible Bike Ride.
We are so excited to announce that they raised $1816! What a fantastic achievement! Thank you to the many families and community members who have supported this event and donated to this important project.
Not only was it a fantastic cause but it was a great way to enjoy the school yard during term break, develop their riding skills and get physically active.
About the Pitjantjatjara Bible Bike Ride
On 7 August, Mr Blenkinsop will embark on a challenging 7-day, 1400km bike ride to Ernabella in the APY Lands. The goal is to raise the $30,000 needed for the completion of the Pitjantjatjara children's art Bible, and help share the gospel to Pitjantjatjara speaking people in the APY Lands and neighbouring dialect communities.

Celebrating the Bond: Year 5/6C and ELC Class Unite for NAIDOC Week
We are delighted to share the heart-warming connection that has flourished between the Year 5/6C class and our wonderful 3-year-old ELC students throughout this academic year. This special relationship recently came to the fore as we celebrated NAIDOC (National Aboriginal and Islanders Day Observance Committee) Week together.
The students engaged in a variety of meaningful activities. They had the opportunity to listen to captivating Dreamtime stories that were thoughtfully read and explained. These stories served as a gateway to explore the rich Indigenous culture of Australia. Students enthusiastically discussed the significance of different animals and their symbolism within these stories. In the spirit of celebration, students joined together to create a vibrant artwork portraying the Rainbow Serpent, an emblematic figure within Indigenous Australian culture. This collaborative effort showcased the unity and respect fostered between the two classes.
One of the highlights of this celebration was witnessing the remarkable leadership demonstrated by some of our Year 5/6 students. They took the initiative to read to our ELC students in small groups, sharing their love for storytelling and fostering a nurturing environment. This display of empathy, care, and leadership left an indelible mark on our hearts.
The smiles radiating from the faces of both the older and younger students speak volumes about the joy and genuine connection that has blossomed through this ongoing relationship. Witnessing the empathy, kindness, and genuine care exhibited by our students is truly a blessing.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Year 5/6C and the 3-year-old ELC students for exemplifying the values of inclusivity, empathy, and respect. The collaboration and friendship that has emerged from this beautiful bond is a testament to the positive impact we can have on each other's lives. As we continue to nurture and strengthen these relationships, we look forward to witnessing the growth, learning, and shared experiences that will shape our students into compassionate and empathetic individuals.
