NAIDOC Week

2nd - 9th July

Last week national NAIDOC Week celebrations were held across Australia, to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is a time to learn about the rich traditions and customs of the First Nations people of Australia and to acknowledge the ongoing struggles they face. NAIDOC week is a reminder of the importance of reconciliation, respect, and recognition of the First Nations people and their contributions to Australian society.

Student at DPS celebrated NAIDOC week by creating a flower mural and educated themselves on what the week means. Below are some beautiful flower murals made by Grade Two students.
