Term Three

Jenna - Welcome back to school everyone! I hope your holidays have all been as enjoyable as mine were. During the term break, I went with my family to Singapore. One of my favourite sites was the Gardens by the Bay. There were pillars wreathed in flora creating a most majestic sight. Whenever I saw the Merlion it brought a feeling of nostalgia and memories from my early childhood. All in all, I had a most wonderful time. In Term Three I am looking forwards to learning French with my peers, Book Week, and Deakin Science.

Isaac - It is so nice to see everyone back at school after a well-deserved break. On the school holidays I spent my time in Italy. I explored and discovered new scenery and experiences across the country. Places I visited were Sorrento, Amalfi Coast, Capri, Rome, Florence, Venice, Milan and Naples.  I was lucky enough to also visit my Dad’s uncle’s town called Avellino in Napoli, where I got to meet family members and cousins. They didn’t speak English so it was a challenge to communicate but it was really special to have met them and spent time with them. My favourite place in Italy was Venice and Sorrento because it was relaxing with no cars and scooters and in Venice I loved experiencing the gondola. I am so grateful to my family for taking me to this special place in this world, I am thrilled to have created all these memories together that I’ll have for a lifetime. I am now really looking for Term 3. The Grade Six students have only two terms left before we head to high school. I’m really excited for Athletics this term and learning many new things.

Jude - Over the school holidays my family and I celebrated Eid. This is an Islamic celebration that occurs twice a year.  We wear new outfits, visit the mosque, donate to charity, visit our family, feast on delicious food and deserts and best of all we receive gifts and money.  Some other things that I did during the holidays going to a soccer field with my friends and going bowling with my family. In Term 3, I am looking forward to House Athletics Day because I enjoy all sports and it is always a fun filled day.

Adrina - In the holidays, I enjoyed a well needed break as well as taking part in a few other fun activities. On one of the days, I went to the Doncaster Theatre with two of my friends. The theatre had not opened since 2019 before Covid struck so it was very busy. We watched the Alice in Wonderland show. It was hilarious and I really enjoyed it. I also went rock climbing with my dad at Bounce and went on a one-day trip to Ballarat. I had fun panning for gold and exploring the mines. We walked through the streets and got an idea of what life was like in the olden days. On the last day of the holidays, I visited Timezone where I won many prizes and had a superb time. I am looking forward to Athletics Day, Deakin Science, Book Week and another amazing term. I hope that you have had a great start to the term. I am excited for what Term 3 has in store for us!
