Things you need to know (1 of 2)

CareMonkey Replaces Flexibuzz
Thank you to our Families for your engagement with our new school communication tool - CareMonkey.
Please remember that we do not communicate through Flexibuzz or send home paper notices for excursions/camps any longer. This is all now done via CareMonkey. Additionally medical details are uploaded by parents and are securely available online for the School's use.
We appreciate that transitioning to new programs/application can take time. Please download the CareMonkey app and keep your details up to date. Further information regarding Caremonkey is available at http://support.caremonkey.com/
Absentees
Families are reminded to contact the school if a child is going to be absent. Please note that notifications no longer will be sent via FlexiBuzz, and currently can not be sent via CareMonkey. Therefore we ask you to notify the school of an absenteeism by:
1) Emailing office@bhcs.vic.edu.au
2) Leaving a Voicemail at Reception - dial 299 at any time during the welcome or after hours message
3) Contacting Reception directly
Please ensure you leave a reason for the absenteeism as the School is required to know for reporting purposes. In cases where the School does not appear to have received advice, families will be contacted to inquire about the child’s whereabouts.
SWITCH on for Year 7 - applications now closing
Applications for our Year 7 SWITCH program close on Friday 16th February. Interested parents and students are reminded to please complete the SWITCH Application that was sent out via CareMonkey last week. For further detail, please log into your CareMonkey account or contact Allen Dickson on adickson@bhcs.vic.edu.au
Bigpond Email Address Issue
The School would like to advise those parents that have a Bigpond email address that you may not be receiving correspondence from the School. This is due to Telstra's new stringent safety measures through Bigpond email. Telstra has advised the School to have all parents with a Bigpond address to provide the School with an alternative email address for correspondence; gmail is an appropriate alternative.
Once a new email address has been provided, the School can update our contact details for families including our internal database system and CareMonkey. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately this is now out of our control.
Staff Car Park
Please remember that the upper car park is now only available for staff. We kindly ask that parents of Middle and Senior students please arrive from 3.30pm onward to enable Kinder and Junior parents time to obtain and depart the car park and pick up zone to limit congestion.
Please be mindful of our neighbours and local road users, by not parking in local roads and creating safety issues.
Gastro & Headlice Warning
The School would like to advise parents that there have been a few reported cases of both Headlice and Gastro in the Junior School. This is a great reminder to encourage our students to make sure they keep up with regular hygiene care like washing their hands, covering coughs and sneezes, but also for parents to check their child's hair regularly for signs of headlice.
We kindly ask that if eggs and/or live lice are found that the child is treated before returning to School.
If Headlice continues to be a regular occurrence a council nurse will be contacted to conduct a check of all Junior students.
Canteen Online Ordering
In addition to ordering lunch directly with the Canteen, it can be ordered online via www.flexischools.com.au
Payments can be processed online via Visa Card, Mastercard or Bank Transfer. This means less paper bags, cash, envelopes, etc. at school.
Ordering online is simple. Head to www.flexischools.com.au and click "Register". Once you register your email address, you will be sent further instructions via email. Please ensure that you read and are aware of all the Terms and Conditions when you register.
We understand that there were some year levels that were unable to access online ordering for the canteen. This has now been rectified and all students from Prep to Year 12 should now be able to order through the online system.
School Accounts
School accounts are currently being emailed to parents. Everyone should receive their account by the end of this week with the information regarding the commencement of Direct Debit arrangements. If you have not yet returned your Direct Debit Form, please do so without delay. A copy can be found below. Should you have any queries regarding your school account, please contact Liz Miko in the Finance Office.
