VOCABULARY

Flip: ‘what do turtles eat?’ to ‘what eats turtles?’

Extend: Do turtles lay eggs on land? - ‘Do ALL turtles lay eggs on land? 

Ask why: Why do turtles lay eggs on land?

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Have your child choose a topic that they find interesting. Ask them to think and record a series of questions that will allow them to learn new information. Your child can then apply the flip, extend, ask why strategy to develop a series of deeper questions.
