Aboriginal Studies

Exhibition at Wagga TAFE

Year 12 Aboriginal Studies students had the privilege of viewing the beautiful art works and life journey of Uncle Bill and Aunty Faye Wallace in their 'Our Voice, Our Story' exhibition at TAFE Wagga Wagga. Juanita McLauchlin, a Gamileroi artist, who also has a current exhibition of her own at the Wagga Art Gallery, took the students through an emotive tour, delving into the importance of Country, and the complexities of growing up Aboriginal in NSW over the past 70 years. The students were intimately connected with the layers of storytelling within the paintings and left with a deeper level of understanding about the Dreaming, past, present and future.
