Parents & Friends News

Dear All,

What a great way to end Term 2 with a ‘Glow Disco Party’.  Not only did I have a fabulous time but so did the all the children and I am pretty sure the parents that helped out did too.

A huge thank you goes to Kasia, Joyce, Rian, Daniela, and to the Year 4’s, Olivia, Siena, Anna, Phoenix, Hugo, Sienna and Zeile who helped decorate our amazing space (which I’m sure they were happy to be out of class).  Also, to Cathy & Anthony for their help and support on the night.  To our volunteers Kasia, Joyce, Rian, Jasmine, Charmaine, Claudette, Liz, Dani, Emma, Donna, Pooja, Primrose, Samantha, and Dinah who made our children feel extra special on the night.

In other news we have so many St Mary’s students who play Basketball after hours who have done extremely well. Congratulations to our Year 6 Boys Slammers Basketball team for a fantastic season, culminating in winning the last game! The team, Spencer, Chris, Leo, Nicholas, Anthony, Alec, Wilson and Maksym who all worked well together contributing to a fantastic result! Thanks to Alec’s dad Tony for coaching the boys, and Leonardo (his big brother) as Team Manager.

Year 6 Girls, St Mary’s Slammers also flew to victory in a nail biting final. The girls were trailing for the first half of the game, but took the lead late in the second half where the goals were unstoppable. What a brilliant season girls!  Brie, Bella, Harriet, Heidi, Carmen, Indie and Josie never gave up fighting for a win. Their coach Jess was very impressed by the attitude of all the girls and said ‘all the players were kind, respectful and resilient’.  Well done girls, you made us all very proud!

The Year 5’s team, the St Mary’s Showtime are undisputedly the team that has had the most fun in the competition. They have been consistently developing their ability to work as a team, always supporting each other and acknowledging each other’s talent. Thanks to Coach Richard and Manager Anoushka for their time and effort with the girls. Well done Chiara, Poppy, Anna, Jemima, Ava and Lolita.

As for our Year 4 Boys team the St Mary’s Slammers, who made it to the finals even though they didn’t win the Grand Final they played extremely well, the boys progressed to the next league. Well done to Jay, William, Sebastian, Willem, Nirvaan, Isaac, Phoenix, Nicholas, Hugo, Alexander, and Magnus for an awesome season. Thanks to Rohan for coaching and to Karthik and Rob for helping out with training and supporting the boys.

What can I say about Year 4 Girls, St Mary’s Stars, you should be very proud on how far you have all come to WIN the Grand Final!  Anna, Mia, Imogen, Olivia, Scarlett, Siena, Sienna and Zelie were definitely grinners after their awesome win!

It was great to see our Year 4’s in their uniforms which was sponsored by Wellness Chiropractic, thanks Christian and Liz for putting into our community and making our children feel and look good.

Well done to all the teams, you should be very proud of yourselves.

On behalf of myself and the P&F team, we hope you have a delightful holiday with friends and family.

See you all in Term 3

Regards,

Louisa
