Selling Produce

The students harvested produce from the garden last fortnight and held one of their 'pop up' market garden stalls at the front of the school. The students asks for a coin donation, anything you could spare in exchange for some tasty organic treats. Some of the produce sold included; cos lettuce, peas, leeks, herbs, onions, broccoli and basil seeds.

The community has once again been extremely generous and the sustainability club raised just over $100.00, which will be used to purchase more seedlings and some cooking essentials to be used in activities.

Fighting Extinction Schools Showcase @ the Melbourne Zoo

WOW! We are excited to be invited to be part of the Melbourne Zoo's Fighting Extinction Showcase on the 18th of November. The sustainability leaders who attended the September Love Your Locals Day at Werribee Zoo, have been asked to present their interactive station to Melbourne Zoo visitors.

A key part of the day was displaying an interactive station facilitated by students. Each participating school is allocated a showcase station to engage zoo visitors, fellow students and zoo staff in their answer to the following question: 'We need smarter, greener towns for people and wildlife. How can we create a Victorian western region that is sustainable for people and creates safe habitat for animals like the Eastern Barred Bandicoot, the Orange Bellied Parrot the Plains Wanderer, or a species of your choice?'

Our students chose to create an E-Book to engage and inform the local Brimbank community and foster a greater understanding and appreciation of endangered species and the natural environment they depend on.

We are really proud of the students efforts and congratulate all involved. We hope you enjoy reading the E-Book!
