Production Update

The countdown is on for our St. Mary’s school production of The Little Mermaid Jr which will be held on Wednesday the 26th and Thursday the 27th of October at St. Bede’s auditorium in Mentone at 7pm.

In the meantime, all students have been working hard in rehearsals with our main run throughs occurring every Monday and Fridays. A whole school rehearsal will also take place on Wednesday the 26th of October at St. Bede’s with more information coming closer to date.

Thank you to all families for bringing in your child’s base layers ready for our dress rehearsals.

As we draw closer to our Production, I kindly encourage all families to check in with their child and support them where needed. Main Cast students might like support in going over their script in these final weeks or some might just need a comforting chat about how they might be feeling. Join me in reminding them to enjoy this exciting experience; their journey and the new friendships they make along the way. Help them acknowledge their personal growth and congratulate them on all their successes so far. We are all so incredibly proud of all their amazing work!

As noted in the previous communication:

  • Year 5/6 Main Cast have been allocated a night to perform. On the alternate night, they will be supporting backstage or taking part in a dance item. Mersisters and Princesses will be performing in their roles for both evenings.
  • Year 5/6 Principal Dancers will perform both nights.
  • Year 2-4 students will perform both nights.
  • Prep and Year One students will only perform on one of the nights:

Prep W and 1W will be performing on Wednesday 26th of October. Prep G and 1A students will be performing on Thursday 27th of October.
